Steampunk art sculpture

Modern boat steampunk art sculpture

Steampunk art sculptures created by Greek artist Giannis Dendrinos based in Athens. His influence from steampunk art is originating in the material he uses. Metal scrap metal parts are often reminded of steampunk style. The sculpture shown in this page is a steampunk marine ship made spark plugs, piston and various metal scrap parts. Classic themes mixed with modern industrial style are many of the sculptures created by the artist.

Steampunk, before it became the full-blown sub-culture it is today, started out as a science-fiction sub-genre in the 1970s. Its fundamental inspirations go all the way back to 19th century Victorian writers, such as Jules Verne (author of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) and H.G. Wells (author of The Time Machine).

Steampunk fashion is a sub genre of the steampunk movement in science fiction. It is a mixture of the Victorian era’s romantic view of science in literature and elements from the Industrial Revolution in Europe during the 1800s. … Steampunk fashion consists of clothing, hair styling, jewelry, body modification and make-up. Jeter coined the term steampunk as a sly nod toward cyberpunk. To elaborate on that, people at the time saw Jeter’s Dr. Adder as a cyberpunk novel-indeed, more punk (dystopian, urban, raw, and ugly) than most. So the label steampunk there made perfect sense as a pun. Source: wikipedia
Although its literary origins are sometimes associated with the cyberpunk genre, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century British Victorian era or the American “Wild West”, in a future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly.
